Good questions, straight answers.
The things guests ask most before booking. Your booking terms for your dates are always shown before you pay.
What time is check-in and checkout?
Check-in is from 3 PM and checkout is by 10 AM. We send check-in details and directions before you arrive. If you'd like to arrive earlier or leave later, ask us: it depends on the cleaning schedule that day, and we'll tell you what's possible.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes. It varies by apartment, currently two or three nights, and the minimum for your dates is shown before you book.
Can we stay for a month or longer?
Yes. You can stay for weeks or months, up to a year. Longer stays are priced with weekly and monthly discounts, shown in your quote, and stays of 90 nights or more have no taxes added. Every apartment has a full kitchen, an in-unit washer and dryer and a dedicated workspace.
What is your cancellation policy?
Every direct booking uses our flexible cancellation policy. A full refund if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in, a 50% refund if you cancel at least 7 days before, and no refund after that. You can also cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of booking, as long as check-in is at least 7 days away. Before you pay, we show those deadlines as dates for your stay, and they are in your confirmation email. You can cancel a direct booking online at /booking/manage with your booking reference and email address, and you'll see the refund before you confirm.
What are the house rules?
No pets, no smoking anywhere in the building, and no parties or events. Please respect the building's quiet hours. We ask for a government-issued photo ID before check-in, and for some apartments we'll ask you to sign a short rental agreement confirming the house rules before check-in.
What is included in the price?
When you book directly, you see the full price for your dates, including the cleaning fee and taxes, before you pay.
How do we book, and is booking direct secure?
Choose an apartment and pick your dates, and you'll see the full total, including the cleaning fee and taxes, before you pay. The price is held for 2 hours while you finish booking, and if our rate drops before you book, you pay the lower one. Card payments are processed by Stripe: your card details go straight to Stripe, and we never see or store them.
How do we get to Manhattan?
It depends on the building. The building runs a free shuttle from the lobby to Hoboken Terminal at set morning and evening hours. From 420 Grand it's a walk to Grove St, where PATH reaches the World Trade Center in 8 to 10 minutes and 33rd St in about 13. The NY Waterway ferry runs from downtown Jersey City too.
Which apartment is closest to the PATH?
The Autumn and The Midnight, at 420 Grand, are a walk to Grove St, where PATH reaches the World Trade Center in 8 to 10 minutes and 33rd St in about 13. Which apartments have a pool, gym or rooftop?
It depends on the building. Hudson House, home to The Golden Hour and The Sunrise, has a heated pool, rooftop, fitness center, sauna, game room and children's room. 420 Grand, home to The Autumn and The Midnight, has a rooftop and fitness center, but no pool or sauna. Each apartment's page lists what its building includes.
Do you host work trips and extended stays?
Yes. We host work trips, relocations, project teams and stays of several months. Every apartment has high-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, a full kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer. Tell us your dates and requirements, and our team will be in touch.
Do you offer corporate housing?
Yes. Our furnished apartments in Jersey City host work trips, relocations and project teams, for a week or up to a year, and colleagues on the same project can share an apartment and still have separate bedrooms. If your stay needs more than the standard booking covers, such as a start date that isn't fixed yet or colleagues arriving at different times, send us the details from our corporate stays page, and our team will be in touch.
Can a group book more than one apartment?
Yes. Each apartment is booked on its own, so availability differs from one to the next and we can't promise particular apartments together or side by side. Tell us your dates and how many people are coming, and we'll tell you what's open. Group stays are for accommodation only: no parties or events.
Are the apartments good for families?
Yes. The apartments have two or three bedrooms, full kitchens and in-unit laundry, and there's space to spread out. Every apartment has a pack-and-play, kept in one of the bedrooms. Building amenities vary by address, so check the apartment's page for what its building includes.
Is there parking?
Parking depends on the building and your dates. Ask us before you book and we'll tell you what's available.
Who do we talk to during our stay?
Us. Zoheb and Paige run VirVan Living with an in-house team, so the people who answer your messages are the people who look after the apartments.
Something else? Send us a message. Tell us your dates and what you need, and our team will be in touch.
