Plenty of places claim to be near New York. Jersey City is one PATH ride from Lower Manhattan, and closer door to door than a lot of Brooklyn and Queens. Our two buildings use different stations, so here are the real numbers for each.
From Hudson House
Hoboken Terminal, via the building's free shuttle at set morning and evening hours

Typical in-train journey times during regular service, not door to door. PATH runs around the clock, on a reduced late-night and weekend schedule.
Other ways across
NY Waterway ferry
From Paulus Hook to Brookfield Place and Midtown. Slower than the PATH and worth it once. The skyline from the water is the whole point.
Hudson-Bergen Light Rail
Runs the waterfront north to Hoboken and south to Bayonne. Useful for Liberty State Park and Hoboken evenings.
Car & airports
Newark Liberty is the closest major airport. Parking downtown is tight. Hudson House has paid parking on site, and 420 Grand lists private and street parking; ask us before you drive.
What's walkable
Hamilton Park
A real neighborhood park a short walk from Hudson House, with a farmers' market, tennis courts and a dog run, ringed by brownstones and independent restaurants rather than chains.
Grove Street
The downtown restaurant and bar spine, and the station 420 Grand walks to. Busy on weekends, and worth the trip from Hudson House too.
The Hudson waterfront
The skyline view people come to Jersey City for. Paulus Hook and the NY Waterway ferry terminal sit at the south end.
Liberty State Park
Open green on the water, with the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island leaving from inside the park.
